Frog on Hill - Bandanna
Description
The sukumo indigo-dyed bandana depicts the glyph for Cholula, Tlachihualtepetl, featuring a hill with a frog on top.
Roketsu dyeing methods were used to achieve striking pearl-white and deep indigo-blue colors. Wax (called Ro in Japanese) coats the scored cotton Japanese handkerchief with a special deer hair brush. The bottom lettering "Made in Aztlan", "Axolotl", and "Washfast Colors" was executed with hand embroidery techniques.
